For fun, fuss free accommodation, right at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, you can’t go past Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

As the old adage says, it is all about ‘location, location, location’…

… and that is something that Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral definitely has going for it.

The hotel sits across the road from Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station – the main transport hub for the city. With lines feeding out to all corners of Kuala Lumpur, finding accommodation right next door seems like a no-brainer for anyone who wants to get out and explore what KL has to offer. Bukit Bintang, KLCC (the site of the Petronas twin towers), Batu Caves and even the KLIA airport terminals are all easily accessible from Aloft. They didn’t call it ‘Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral‘ for nothing!

Conveniently, Aloft is also connected via walk bridge to a multi level shopping centre called Nu Sentral. Take a right turn – instead of the left to the station – and there are 8 levels of food, fashion and beauty to explore. There is everything from Sephora, H&M and Levis, to local boutiques and cuisine.

But location isn’t the only thing that Aloft KLS has going for it.

Bright, colourful and proudly ‘tech-savvy’, Aloft very much caters for the Gen Y traveller. If the round check in desk (modelled off a DJ console) doesn’t give that away, then the 24 hour ‘convenience’ store and XBox Kinect in the foyer may. They even have lockable charging stations, equipped with iPhone and Android chargers, in the lobby and on the rooftop. I like a hotel that thinks about these things!

Coincidentally, the location, simple yet functional rooms, and the hotel’s tech approach is also perfect for the business traveller. With such a high business occupancy, Aloft KL Sentral boasts a number of features that no other Aloft hotel does. There is a laundry service, in-room dining, free mini-bar, rooftop bar, and a Halal buffet restaurant available to all guests. Just like the other hotels, there is also a 24-hour ‘convenience store’ – Re-fuel – the W XYZ bar and the Re:Mix lounge.

But, the most outstanding feature of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral has to be their rooftop…

If I am honest, the thing that sold me on Aloft (before I had even researched the rest of the hotel) was the stunning infinity pool. Some 30 stories up in the sky, the lengthy infinity pool ‘Splash’ has an incredible view out over the city. What’s better? You can enjoy that view, the KL humidity and the pool with a cocktail from the rooftop bar in hand. It is the perfect spot to spend the afternoon, relaxing after a full on day of sightseeing and shopping.

If you are looking for a central hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the simplicity and convenience of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral cannot be surpassed. It is a hotel that can be enjoyed equally for leisure or business, and it is a hub for exploring the beauty of KL.
If anyone else has ever stayed, I would love to hear your experience!
